"I am inspired by the subtle color shifts in the stalk of a scallion, edible flowers adorning plates, and farm stands bursting with locally grown lettuce. My paintings are about celebrating the rituals of cooking, eating, and gathering. 

I typically use various acrylic paints on wood panels, canvas, and paper. I enjoy painting food the most because is a means of expression, celebration, and preservation of a joyful fleeting moments. The goal of my work is to serve as a moment of respite for the viewer." - Rachael Reese
